Deadmau5 performs in 2017.

Ever wondered what "Strobe" would sound like if you removed all the electronics and adapted its ambient synths into orchestral strings? What if you replaced the pounding beat with classic percussion? Or maybe you're dying to hear "F'n Pig" the way Mozart would have perhaps conceived of such a composition?

Well, deadmau5 must have always wondered what his songs sounded like in a classical vein, too, because the progressive producer went full analog on his latest release where's the drop?, a 15-track LP in collaboration with music director Gregory Reveret that reimagines some of his favorite tunes as orchestral recordings.

"I'm not trying to contrive musical revolutions or anything," the producer tweeted, "or push toward going into some kind of orchestral trend, writing a symphony is something I've always wanted to do. So I done did it."

The album's release will be celebrated with a double performance of deadmau5 tunes by a live orchestra Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1, at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. Tickets are sold out, but because Tidal is nice, you can catch the performance via livestream. You can also listen to the glistening briliance of where's the drop? below.
