Lookas & Timeflies' Cal Shapiro Take a 'Deep Breaths' on Chill Pop-House Tune: Exclusive

Blaise Castellano

The world is a stressful place. You need to take a "Deep Breaths" and relax. Good thing dance producer Lookas was raised in Miami, a place that soaks itself in sunshine and lives two-hours behind its time zone. If anyone knows how to craft a beat equal parts relaxing, refreshing and energizing, it's this dude.

He got in the studio with Cal Shapiro, singer for duo Timeflies, to create a three-minute tropical vacation fit for any hectic moment of your day. He sings a soothing mantra that'll have your wild day doing a dutty wine into a complete 180. It's a tune so colorful and feel-good, it could turn a full-stop traffic jam into just another moment to dust off your moves.

"Me and Lookas caught a vibe on this record," Cal tells Billboard. "We knew immediately we wanted to center everything around the idea of exhaling your problems away and just taking a deep breath, letting it all out and have these horns tell you everything you need to know.”

“This record was a blast to work on," Lookas adds. "This was the second time working with Cal and the record came together super quick! We are stoked for everyone to bump this one”

"Deep Breaths" is fun and funky, and it's out everywhere Friday, Feb. 16, but you can listen to it in full below, exclusively on Billboard Dance.
