Autograf, Klingande and Dragonette

Things out here are crazy. Political division, natural disasters and old-fashioned personal drama weigh on the shoulders of all of us, to whatever degree. The artist in today's world has a responsibility to, if not address our world's woes, offer some sort of release or digestion, and electronic music as an occupant of that haven the dance floor is well positioned to do some good.

For its latest release, Chicago trio Autograf teams up with their pals Klingande and Toronto's Dragonette. "Hope For Tomorrow" looks right in the face of modern discontent and says, "not today."

"'Hope For Tomorrow' is a song about creating positivity in 2018," Autograf tells Billboard. "Last year was difficult for a lot of us, and in today's day and age, we want to try and shift the focus to idolizing great people that are positively affecting the world, as opposed to focusing all of our energy on the negative ones. We’ve always had the utmost respect for Klingande and Dragonette as artists, so for this song to finally be released after over a year of development makes us extremely happy."

It's a beautiful tune, conjured from dark though triumphant melodies. It turns out the idea for a collab between Klingande and Autograf stems back to the last couple of Miami Music Weeks. After playing together at Klingande's Playground Pool Park, the spark they shared just couldn't be ignored.

"Working on this collab with Autograf was a real pleasure and a great opportunity to work on a different sound and vibe," Klingande says. "We met for the first time on tour in the U.S. in 2015, and we immediately had a real connection."

Today, you can revel in "Hope For Tomorrow" below, out on Ultra Records.
