Destructo Is Out to Melt Heads With Trippy 'Bassface' Video: Watch

Gary Richards, aka Destructo.

He may no longer be the main man at HARD events, but Destructo is still the pied piper of all things G-house. The L.A.-based producer, DJ and event promoter dropped a six-track celebration of the West Coast in March, titled the Renegade EP. Now, as he sets out on a new chapter of his life, he drops a new single.

"Bassface" is still all about the funky low-end, but you won't hear any featured MCs. This is a return to classic house values, well-suited for late-night warehouse parties and sweaty basement bashes. It's got a bangin' beat and bossy swagger, plus the video is mad trippy.

Destructo is also known to fans as Gary Richards. He was a beloved figure in the underground electro, house and techno scenes thanks to his HARD festivals, including Day of the Dead and Holy Ship! He sold the company to Livenation five years ago, and this summer, his failed to renew his contract. He has since accepted a gig with Live Style, his former competitors.

We've yet to see the tricks he's got in store for live music, but if "Bassface" is any indication of style, things are going to feel just fine.
