Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2018 is still half a year away, but it's already one for the books. The beloved all-night dance party in the desert moved from June to May, resulting in cooler temperatures during the day -- which means EDC LV can finally become the camping festival it maybe should have always been.

Traffic to and from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where the festival makes its home has always been a monumental hassle. Sleepover camp options give festival goers a break from the commute and offers a ton of diurnal activities.

“Every year I challenge myself to find ways that we can enhance the EDC experience,” Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac, says in a press release. “One of my dreams has always been to create an immersive camping element to the festival, and I'm proud to announce that today, that idea becomes a reality with Camp EDC."

He continues: "We’re building out an expansive campground complete with air-conditioned ShiftPod tents and a drive-your-own RV option, in addition to a full center camp area called The Mesa that features tons of amenities and activities like daytime pool parties, yoga, group exercise classes, a curated speaker series, 24-hour food and beverage options, go-kart racing and plenty of art. There are so many things our headliners can explore in Camp EDC, but the most exciting part is that people will be able to connect with one another in a completely new way."

It all kicks off with a preview party Thursday night, featuring surprise DJ performances atop the festival's famed, roaming Parliament Art Car. Days will be filled with airbrushing, glitter and jewel makeovers, rave aerobics, sound healing seminars, field day games like tug-o-war and more. You can eat on site from one of the many local vendors, or take a shuttle to a nearby grocery store, and when it's time to head into the main event, you'll just have to walk.

Camping setups are tiered ranging from basics without bedding to multiple-person dwellings that are set up upon arrival. Camp passes will be available for purchase to ticket holders Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. EST / 12 p.m. PST. EDC returns to Las Vegas Motor Speedway Friday, May 18, to Sunday, May 20, 2018.
