Above & Beyond Releases 'Ode to Detroit' With Emotional 'Northern Soul' Featuring Richard Bedford

Amelia Troubridge
Above and Beyond

Above & Beyond reunites with Richard Bedford to release "Northern Soul", a hard-hitting yet emotional single that will land on their upcoming Common Ground album, which is set for a early 2018 release. Bedford has previously lent his soulful vocals to the group for standout trance classics like "Thing Called Love" and "Sun & Moon".

The record is an ode to Detroit, home to music icons Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder to name a few. Above & Beyond describes Bedford's performance on their latest single as "fabulous and real and human" in a press release. "Above all, he makes it believable."

The song's arrival coincides with Above & Beyond's sold-out concert at London's massive 02 Arena tomorrow (Nov. 4) which can hold up to 20,000 people. The group's Common Ground tour will begin in the U.S. on Dec. 29.
