Ibiza Airport Reports Record Traffic, Despite Island's Decrease in Hotel Occupancy
The island saw over 1.4 million arrivals and departures -- a 6.7 percent increase from last year.
Business is booming in Ibiza. A recent report by Man In San An states the island's international airport, Ibiza Airport, posted record numbers this August -- its busiest month of the year -- with over 1.4 million passengers arriving and departing, a 6.7 percent increase from last year.
Moreover, airports across the island saw a rise of 300,000-plus visitors from January to August 2017 in comparison to 2016's figures for that timeframe.
Interestingly enough, hotel occupancy in August dropped six points, but could be due to an increase in Airbnb and unlicensed villas.
