Burial, "Rodent"

If you like bass music, chances are your favorite artists are heavily influenced by Burial.

The elusive artist has been a direct inspiration to Skrillex, James Blake and Disclosure, to scratch the surface. His moody, basement-dwelling compositions helped create musical movements from dubstep to future garage, so when Burial makes noise, you listen.

Burial emerges today with an atmospheric track called “Rodent.” It's groovy and layered. A bouncing rhythm lures you to the dance floor alongside a haunting vocal sample. It's an exhale of smoke into the night, and it comes packaged with a jumpin' remix from Burial's HYPERDUB label boss and fellow underground icon Kode9. It's a serious head-knocker, definitely a sick counterpart to Burial's ethereal vibe.

Both “Rodent” and the Kode9 remix are out digitally today on HYPERDUB. Listen to both tunes below.
