Electronic pop duo Grey made quite the splash in 2016 with their summer hit "Starving" with Zedd and Hailee Steinfeld and at the top of 2017, they dropped a romantic gem entitled "I Miss You." Now, on Friday (Sept. 8), they followed with "Crime" featuring Swedish pop singer Skott.
The topline, while sung by Skott, was written by Linnea Södahl whose previous works include writing Zara Larsson's "Lush Life". Grey elaborates on the creative process behind the song:
"We had gone to Sweden to work with Linnea Södahl, who is also good friends with Skott. She showed us the topline for what ended up being 'Crime' and thought Skott would be perfect for it. When we met Skott, we vibed really well and decided to do the song together. It was exciting for us to work with her since we’ve had her on our radar for a bit and are huge fans of her work."
