?Alesso got bit by the fusion bug on his latest collaborative single "Let Me Go." It's a radio-ready pop ballad with an All-Star cast, vocals from Hailee Steinfeldand Florida Georgia Line, plus a little dash of country in the twanging guitar, and additional production from LA upstart watt.
"Let Me Go" comes in subtle and builds to a rush, much like the lyrical message of a love that starts out well enough, but ultimately becomes stale and meets a less-than-rosy end. This is a song for the ones who are searching for their freedom. The grass is greener on that other side, and the beat is tropical and summery without leaning on steel drums.
It's the first tune Alesso has released under his new management team, Shots Studios. It's not an all-out electro club tune, but it is something for rolling the windows down and feeling the wind in your hair. Could it represent a new chapter in the Alesso sound?
