Marshmello performs during Day Two of 2017 Billboard Hot 100 Festival at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater on Aug. 20, 2017 in Wantagh City.

In light of the destruction and heartbreak caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Marshmello has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross and has taken to social media to encourage others to donate as well.

"Seeing all of the images and videos of the destruction that Hurricane Harvey has caused to the city of Houston breaks my heart," he says. "When something tragic like this happens it really affects us all not only as Americans but as people, no matter what race, color, or religion we are."

He continues, "On behalf of the mellogang and myself, I will be donating $100,000 to the American Red Cross. I encourage everyone including my mellogang and fellow colleagues to do what they can to help the people of Texas. God bless."
