If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands. If you're not happy and you know it, press play on Le Youth's “Clap Your Hands,” and watch that frown turn upside down in a nanosecond.

The L.A.-based producer bottled a little bit of sunshine with this one. It's summery and disco cool, with a funky vocal from Ava Max. You can also thank her for the infectious hand clapping that literally gives the tune life.

"I remember being in the booth singing melodies,” Ava Max says in an emailed statement. "I started clapping my hands along to the beat. One thing led to another, and the title was born."

Le Youth took that clap-clap-clapping and ran with it -- but it's the bright, cheeky synths that take “Clap Your Hands” to its peak.

"I'm always striving to do something new and something fresh,” Le Youth says in an emailed statement. “Even more important for me is doing something cool. This record ticked all those boxes. I can't wait for people to hear Ava and see what we've made."

“Clap Your Hands” is out everywhere on Warner Music Friday, Aug. 4, but you can listen to it below, exclusively on Billboard Dance
