Fedde Le Grand Debuts Sensation 2017 Anthem 'Keep On Rising' Ahead of Final Festival: Exclusive
ID&T's Sensation Amsterdam takes its final bow this summer, fastening its memorable run to 18 years. The organization called upon their "resident DJ" Fedde Le Grand to remix Ian Carey's "Keep On Rising" to be Sensation's official anthem, which Billboard Dance now has the pleasure of premiering.
"'Keep On Rising' is a very special record for our Sensation crew and the founders of our company," says Sensation co-founder Eric Keijer. "It was used at the funeral of one of the founders and creative minds behind the Sensation event since 2000."
The event's iconic all-white dress code is in dedication of Sensation founder Miles Stutterheim (brother of co-founder Duncan Stutterheim), who died in 2000 in a car accident.
"When I heard about the opportunity of 'Keep On Rising' possibly becoming the actual anthem for the event, and later learning the special meaning, it really gave me the chills in a positive sense, this really is a 'meant-to-be' type of situation," says Le Grand, mentioning he had been working on the Ian Carey record for nearly a year prior to Sensation reaching out about it.
"I think it’s such a classic vocal and love the positive and summer vibe it has to it," he adds. Fedde Le grand will also be presenting the first-ever live Megamix, which will precede "An Ode to Sensation," during which DJs from previous Sensation shows will come onstage to play one track each. Resident house and techno DJ Mr. White will play the very last record.
"Our goal is for all our visitors to forget the daily worries and problems they might have in their lives and to celebrate life," says Keijer. Sensation Amsterdam will take place at the Amsterdam Arena on July 8.
