What So Not Remixed by Noisia, SLUMBERJACK & More: Listen

Rutger Prins

What So Not took a big step forward with his debut solo EP Divide & Conquer. Its five tracks, interlude and outro melt together to explore a variety of emotions and styles. “Lone” featuring Joy and Ganz is a standout, and “Trust” with Burns heightens the senses.

Both those tunes plus the title track just got massive reworks from eight dope producers that run the gamut of dance music styles, tempos and sounds, though the EP leads with a special remix of the EP title track from none other than drum'n'bass legends Noisia. It's a monster of an opener as the instrumental group turns up the filters and goes deep into the grit. It doesn't lead with its drums, but the percussion is not to be left out. The signature synth hook of "Divide & Conqure" gets a ghostly reinterpretation. Noisia turned this into a true stomper.

The EP continues with three reworks of “Lone” from poppin' newcomers Slow Hours, Ribongia and SLUMBERJACK. “Trust” gets five varied rinses from Go Freek, Loge21, KUURO, Plastic Plates and MYRNE. The collection is soft and sweet, hard and biting, full of future funk and cool house, and always absolutely huge.
