Have you heard of this new young R&B artist Khalid yet? The 19-year-old has got a deep, earnest voice and a lot of soul. His debut album American Teen dropped into the loving lap of listeners on Friday, March 3, and his single “Location” is burning up the Billboard Hot 100, sitting pretty at No. 44 and climbing.

He's got sparse, almost future bass-inspired grooves, and it's easy to hear why Zedd would want to work with him. Khalid has a voice that's instantly recognizable in today's musical climate, and Zedd has a lot of room to work in terms of building exciting soundscapes. The pair teased news of their collaboration on Twitter, where the superstar producer also took time out to chat with fans about his upcoming third album.

No serious details were dropped, no release date or collaboration confirmations, but it's still enough to get a superfan excited.
