Playa d'en Bossa and Cala de Bou, part of Ibiza's municipality of Sat Josep, are planning discussions around tightening capacity regulations and sound limits in beach bars, clubs and venues.

According to Peri√≥dico de Ibiza, the Sant Josep Town Council will discuss imposing new crowd control systems on venues with a capacity over 200 or more . If passed, capacity will be monitored much more carefully and patrons will have to go through sensors upon entry to beach clubs, bars or other venues to keep track. These venues would post signs that outline capacity and would also have someone in charge of enforcing the number.

In addition, the council will debate whether or not to expand article 26 of the Tourism Law that deals with sound limitations. Deputy Mayor and Councilor of the Interior Paquita Ribas commented on the fariness of the limitations, stating, “You can not discriminate, forcing some to have more control than others.”

Both of these issues will be discussed on Thursday when the Sant Josep Town Council meets.
