It's been almost four years since Chicago's The Black Madonna released any original material, but that hasn't stopped her from having one of the biggest years of her career. Her name was on the lips of fans and club promoters around the world in 2016. She even cracked the top 10 of Resident Advisor's Top 100 Artists list. If ever there was a time to follow up with creativity, it's surely now.

"I have always felt, where making records was concerned, that it was better to say nothing than to rush and put out a lot of music that didn’t say much at all,” The Black Madonna is quoted in a press release. “Now, it’s time to share something with you that has been the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on. 'He Is The Voice I Hear' is my first all new work since Lady Of Sorrows. It’s been a long journey from there to here. I’m so thrilled to continue the story and finally realize my dream of bringing together an ensemble of live musicians.”

Named one of Billboard Dance's 10 best dance/electronic songs of 2016, “He Is The Voice I Hear” features live strings and keys from musicians Davide Rossi and Christoforo LaBarbera, respectively, seemingly small elements that truly imbue the light-hearted track with its jazzy spirit. It's disco, it's orchestral, it's free-form, and at 10-and-a-half minutes, it's overflowing in groove. You won't even realize it's been 10 minutes, you'll be too busy dancing.

Following last year's vinyl-only release, the track can now be streamed digitally below.
