Shep Gordon is the legendary music manager who has represented the likes of Alice Cooper, Blondie and Pink Floyd. He knows a thing or two about good music, and in a new video shot at Summit at Sea in November, he sits for some shop talk with Th3rd Brain manager Jake Udell.

During the conversation, Gordon compares hip hop's expletive-filled lyrics to President-elect Donald Trumo's controversial campaign rhetoric.

"When I listen to my kids playing stuff on the radio, the qualities of what I hear coming out of the music are the same qualities that I hear coming out of Donald Trump's mouth," Gordon says. "'F--k the b----h.' All the stuff you hear in the rap records... are saying almost the same thing. It's putting down women for the most part... it's foul language. There's nothing that I'd want my kid to take away from the majority of the stuff I hear on the radio. Not the Beyonces, not the Jay-Zs, but even Jay Z... I mean, you listen to Jay Z after Hillary Clinton, and everybody beat up Trump for saying exactly what Jay Z's songs were saying."

Udell also asks about how to capture cultural phenomenons in music, what music will look like in 10 or 20 years, and other topics. Check it out below.
