True artistic vision is the ability to see things not simply as they are, but what they could be.

“The first time (Black Atlass) sent me his album, I remember hearing this interlude called ‘Holding On,’ a 1 minute acoustic guitar thing with just 4 lines of vocals,” says A-Trak in an emailed statement. “But as soon as I heard it, I thought ‘this is a house track waiting to happen.’ So, I asked him to send me the vocal stem, and I linked with my friends Promnite and starRo. We made this just for fun, to play in our sets. I love when these things happen organically.”

The “Holding On” remix is one of three that celebrate Black Atlass' debut album on A-Trak's Fool's Gold Records. Haunted Paradise is a moving collection of 11 stark, emotional grooves. It's a twisted kind of R&B that digs deep and grabs your heart in its fist. The remix EP also includes a rework of ”Island Love” from Madeaux, and “Tonight” from High Klassified. It's available Dec. 9 but can be pre-ordered on iTunes.

"It was amazing to finally get the chance to work with A-Trak on a song (via his remix),” Black Atlass says in an emailed statement. “That's definitely always been a dream of mine since I signed with Fool's Gold, so it was a really cool thing to do for my first full length album. I love what he, Promnite and starRo did with the track. They turned 'Holding On,' which was meant as an interlude, into a completely different vibe and something that's entirely it's own thing. It's amazing to see that song given more purpose and really take on a life of it's own.”
