Flume accepts the ARIA for Telstra Album of the Year during the 30th Annual ARIA Awards 2016 at The Star on Nov. 23, 2016 in Sydney, Australia.

Flume dominated the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards Tuesday, Nov. 22. The internationally touring and platinum-certified artist took home an astounding eight trophies in the categories Album of the Year, Bet Pop Release, Best Dance Release, Best Cover Art, Best Male Artist, Engineer of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Best Independent Release.

In his acceptance speech, he spoke out against Sydney's controversial “lock-out laws,” which force clubs, bars, and venues to shut their doors to new customers by 1:30 am. Critics of the regulations argue they cripple the community's cultural growth, and Flume has aligned himself with the resistance movement. Watch his speech below.
