Imagine you're hanging out by your computer with your cat, just chilling, maybe working on a beat or two, and suddenly, you get an email that's all, “Hey, wanna work on a song with John Oates, you know, one-half of Hall & Oates, the best-selling musical duo of all time?” That'd be nuts, right?

Well, it happened to Wolfgang Gartner, and “Baby Be Real” is so sexy, funky, cool, it's the magic we didn't even know we wanted.

“This project was so organic and refreshing for me, as an opportunity to revisit the sound that I grew up on and collaborate with a legend and personal hero,” Gartner sayS. “I took John’s a cappella and wrote all new music underneath it, going for a sort of late 90’s disco house throwback vibe.”

It's definitely got a taste of throwback, but it's just as futuristic as it is funky and uplifting. It's got a hint of that Daft Punk nu-disco edge, the perfect feel-good, dance-all-night accompaniment to the song's ultimate be-yourself message.

“‘Baby Be Real’ developed from a song idea that I started writing with Josh Charles,” Oates says. “Wolfgang Gartner heard a demo version and liked it enough to build a really pumped-up track around the hook. He jacked up the dance vibe big time, and the record really rocks!  I love what he did with it and can't wait to hear it on the dance floor.”

“Baby Be Real” is out today. Buy it online, or listen below.
