About a year ago, Dutch duo TV Noise made the conscious decision to move away from the big and bombastic house world in favor of more organic, pop-driven melodies. “Remember,” featuring disco-tized guitar riffs and delicious vocals from Irish singer-songwriter Oisin, just might be the final piece of the transformative puzzle.

“We were in the studio quite a long time ago where we got to hear some vocals of the singer Oisin for the first time,” TV Noise (Jasper Gelderblom and Jelmer ten Hoeve) says in an emailed statement. “We were starstruck right away.”

Oisin and his team originally wrote “Remember” as a deep house tune, but TV Noise decided to flip it with a little funk.

“We thought it worked better with the lyrics,” TV Noise says. “It’s a happy song with an emotional melody, which is very weird, but works so good as well.”

At first, there were no guitars, just a few funky chords. TV Noise continued to build electronic elements, but still felt the song lacked that live element. “Real instruments,” as the guys called them, were the answer.

“It's still a dance record, but it still feels warm and poppy,” TV Noise says. “We tend to make our tracks organic and alive. We want to feel the music we’re making and playing.”

Hear "Remember" exclusively on Billboard ahead of its Oct. 28 release on Spinnin' Records.
