The 10 Best Major Lazer Songs

Snake has proven himself to be a master hook caster, and with his smash "Taki Taki" still riding high across the Dance/Electronic charts, he's certainly proving his staying power. Here we celebrate his 10 best tracks to date.

10. DJ Snake - "Sahara" (feat. Skrillex)

Skrillex tag-teamed on this one, an exotic bit of music that comes in sweet and smooth only to jack up 500 percent into a squealing wonk. This track is brilliant for its many shifts, twists, and turns. It keeps you on your toes, and it gives the ol' booty something to work out to. Definitely a must-listen in the DJ Snake catalogue.

9. DJ Snake - "A Different Way" (feat. Lauv)

DJ Snake taps indie pop singer-songwriter Lauv for a lighthearted record called "A Different Way" that turns up the heat at the drop. The release came right around the time of Lauv's solo sinlge "I Like Me Better" crossing the 200 million stream mark on Spotify, in addition to the announcement of his live supporting role to Sam Smith's Asia tour.

8. DJ Snake - "Bird Machine" (feat. Alesia)

This early 2013 hit was DJ Snake's breakout moment and remains one of his best works. Everything about it is perfect. The bird samples, the weird vocal, the stark beat, the dog woofs, the finger snaps. The whole composition is instantly recognizable and still doesn't sound like anything else.

7. Dillon Francis, DJ Snake - "Get Low"

Everyone loves an Arabian-inspired melodic line, especially when it's backed by mind-blowing bass. Dillon Francis helped with this tune, ensuring it was a festival-wide smash in every DJ's arsenal the summer of 2014. Those Arabic lyrics translate to "let's go, my love."

6. DJ Snake, Lil Jon - "Turn Down For What"

It's almost beneath this song to give any explanation. If you didn't hear Lil Jon's booming call to action in 2013, were you even alive? The music video is absolutely iconic. There was definitely a commercial that ripped it off. There were definitely a bunch of commercials with this song in it. It's just an anthem.

5. DJ Snake, AlunaGeorge - "You Know You Like It"

A good remix can sometimes become more memorable than its original. DJ Snake's dark-tinged Alunageorge rework is so mysteriously sensual, Alunageorge performs it in the duo's own live shows. This might be one of the best hooks of the last five years, if we may be so bold.

4. DJ Snake - "Middle" (feat. Bipolar Sunshine)

This song is pure joy. Bipolar Sunshine's vocals are rich, golden, and dreamy. DJ Snake's too-cool production covers the whole body in a rosy, twilight glow. And that hook? Come on, now. We've already deduced from the rest of this list that DJ Snake is a hook god. This just took things to a whole new blissful level.

3. DJ Snake - "Let Me Love You" (feat. Justin Bieber)

Oh man. Another producer gets in on the Justin Bieber dance game, and things get just as magical as ever. “Let Me Love You” is currently on a tear through the charts. It just cracked the Hot 100's top 5, and it doesn't show signs of slowing down. DJ Snake and the Biebs have permission to love us 20 times a day on mainstream radio, around sundown as we drive down the highway, literally whenever they want.

2. DJ Snake - "Taki Taki (with Selena Gomez, Ozuna & Cardi B)"

In a catalog stacked with slinky, undeniable dance jams, 2018's "Taki Taki" may be the slinkiest and most undeniable. Like its namesake creator, the track slithers into your ear holes with a simmering hook that serves as the foundation for explosive verses by Cardi B and Ozuna, plus an intensely seductive cameo from Selena Gomez. This one has been stuck in our heads for months, and we're okay with that.

1. Major Lazer, DJ Snake - "Lean On" (feat. )

Quite simply the pinnacle jam from DJ Snake and Major Lazer. This song is already four years old, but it feels like just yesterday we first fell under its alluring spell. MØ's vocal performance is already legendary. The lyrics are great. The hook is fab. Replay, please.
