Feeling a bit beat? Looking for a bit of inspiration to get the blood going? Madden's latest single is just the trick.

“With 'Alive,' I've tried to capture the intensity of an adrenaline rush,” he says. “The calmness before throwing yourself out there, and the joy of the moment when it happens.”

He wrote the song with Norway's Kid Joki and Swedish singer-songwriter Andreas Moe, a pair of collaborators who share him addiction to the music making process and channeled that creative rush in the studio.

“We were literally jumping around in the studio for 16 hours,” Madden says. “This production has been a special one, because it's the first time I sing vocals on a recording. Experimenting with your own voice, and sharing what feelings you have inside through singing is quite a rush in itself, so I feel I've grown as a producer and musician through this song.”

That theme made its way into the video treatment which depicts a stubble-faced outdoorsman who tackles the elements in search of that golden feel.

“I know everyone has their own experience of what makes them feel alive,” Madden says. “I wanted it to reflect how we all connect through that feeling. Whether it's through music, extreme sports, fast cars, wild nature or love and friendship, we all seek those moments that elevate us, that become memories for life.”
