Duke Dumont Walks Off Stage, Apologizes After Being Spat On: Watch
Duke Dumont, the man behind some of modern house music's funkiest and most recognizable grooves, had enough self respect to walk away from a bad situation before it got worse, even if that meant letting down a few hundred fans. He cut his performance at Edmonton, Canada's, Union Hall on Saturday, Sept. 18, after a heckler in a balcony continuously spat and threw drinks all over himself and his mixer.
“I know you guys paid good money, but I don't get paid enough to get spat on,” Dumont says in a video. He dared the offender to show his face before apologizing to “99.9 percent” of the audience.
He announced the closing DJ to come on stage and finish the night as people booed and threw hand-hearts up in his direction. Billboard Dance reached out to Dumont and Union Hall for comment. Watch the event as it happened below.
