There will be no Day of the Dead festival in Los Angeles or anywhere else this year. HARD founder Gary Richards, aka Destructo, has decided to forgo the Halloween festival in the brand's hometown.

HARD Announces Australian Tour With Zeds Dead, GTA, Ghastly & More

“HARD decided earlier in the year not to schedule it this year for production reasons,” a representative says. “Preparing for two festivals at two new locations (HARD SUMMER and HARD Day of the Dead) so close together would have been too much of a strain on their resources.”

The decision comes after three attendees died at HARD Summer's 2016 edition in Fontana, Calif.

Meanwhile, fewer L.A. events may open the door for more international ventures. HARD recently announced an expansion into Australia with a tour featuring performances by Zeds Dead, GTA, and more.
