Hear a Solo-Emoh Sound on What So Not's 'Divide and Conquer' EP

What So Not

Big day for Emoh Instead as he offers the world What So Not's first original EP sans production partner Flume. Divide and Conquer is the name of the six-track package. Divided are the musicians and conquering is on the menu.

The intro and title-track comes on hard and strong with fatter synths with no floaty background chords to hide behind, though the romanticism comes back in with the “Severance (Interlude)” and “Lone” ft. Joy, a track with which fans are already familiar.

“Buried” flows over the body like an under-water fever dream while Rome Fortune delivers some inspirational real talk. “Montreal” feat. Kimbra is darkly sensual, “Trust” feat. Burns stands out with big hit potential, and final track “Adieu” is all kinds of wonky, off-kilter, textural fun.

It's a good first step out of Flume's platinum-certified shadow. What So Not fans will not be disappointed, as long as they're ready for something not so trap-influenced. Check it out streaming on Soundcloud below, and see where you can catch What So Not dropping these new jams in a city near you.
