Get a Little Folksy With Filous and MOUNT on 'Emelie:' Exclusive

Folk music and EDM couldn't be farther apart on the genre-scale. One is cracky voices and acoustic guitars, the other is hyper-polished synths and booming bass, but maybe they're not so different after all.

Folk songs are often times built around folk dancing, and your ancestors lost themselves on the dance floor to some rustic rhythms eras before you and your friends donned neon. They may have more in common than you think. Filous and MOUNT sure seem to think so.

“Emelie” is a beautiful, heart-wrenching song featuring vocals from Buster Moe alongside a knee-slapping beat and tons of harmonica. It kind of sounds like the great open country, but it packs a big synthetic kick, and therefore dutifully club ready.

"Every once in a while, you start working on a song where everything just seems to come together in the most natural way possible,” Filous says. “Every time that happens, it feels incredibly exciting and special! That's exactly what happened with this song.”
