Who's ready to go on a trip?

Thom Sonny Green invites you on a wild ride of the senses. Music lovers know Green as the drummer in world-touring rock outfit alt-J, but it seems a thoughtful composer lurks beneath those solid rhythms. Over the course of the last two years, Green found time on the road and between shows to create High Anxiety, a 21-track buffet of textures, rhythms, and melodies. A lot of the tracks are named after places, presumably in reference to where they were created.

It's a work both ambient and structured, creepy and alluring. It's definite headphone material, to be listened to in its entirety. The tracks aren't that long, so don't let it daunt you. If you care to take it one step further, and you should, Green teamed with visual artist Nichola Farnan to pair each track with its own tripped-out imagery. It's definitely the sort of thing you can happily get lost in. You might even find Nirvana.

High Anxiety is out Friday, Aug. 19, on Green's own Sudden Records, but you can listen and watch the whole album visualizer below exclusively on Billboard Dance.
