Netsky Recruits Macklemore For the Remix to Olympics-Inspired 'Rio'

The sunset in Rio just got a little bit hotter with Belgian drum and bass producer Netsky’s remix of his single “Rio,” featuring none other than Macklemore. The track, inspired by the upcoming Summer Olympic games, blends the fervent energy and bass lines of the original track with Macklemore’s bars, where he boasts that he’s “supposed to go tomorrow, I know that I ain’t leaving though.”

Although the track won’t serve as an official anthem for the games, the “Rio” remix, which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio Show, mirrors the exuberance the Summer Olympics represent.

Macklemore, who released his second album with producer Ryan Lewis, This Unruly Mess I've Made, in February, had been relatively quiet on the music front recently until this week, when he unexpectedly popped up alongside G-Eazy on the remix to YG's "Fuck Donald Trump."

You can catch Netsky this weekend at New York’s Panorama Music Festival. Listen to the track below.
