Divergent star Ansel Elgort has been working the ones and twos for a minute under his DJ name, Ansolo. But on Friday (July 8) he dropped his debut solo single under his own name, an upbeat dance number that features his laconic vocals over a refrain that seems hard to believe -- "I don't want to go home alone" -- coming from a man with his matinee idol good looks.

We've heard Elgort speak, obviously, but until he released a cover of Shawn Mendes' "Treat You Better" earlier this week, it was unclear what AE would sound like when he laid original vocals over the stuttery beats on the single he wrote, produced and performed by himself. "At the end of the night/ When I turn off the lights/ And the bulls--t fades away/ I don't want to go home alone," Elgort croons on the chorus.
