Hardwell performs during the Ultra Music Festival at Bayfront Park Amphitheater on March 30, 2014 in Miami, Fl.

In addition to Hardwell making his mark in dance music, he's added philanthropy to his efforts with the launch of his charity project United We Are Foundation last year, which held a massive inaugural event in December that welcomed over 70,000 fans in Mumbai to support children's education.

Now the pioneering Dutch DJ is taking part in an event at the UN headquarters in New York, organized by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Johan Cruyff Foundation, on June 16, with a performance at the closing reception.

Hardwell will also be spotlighting his charitable organization and will be joined by retired soccer players, including Frank Rijkaard, who will discuss the sport's famed platform as a way to promote peace.
