Zedd arrives at Staples Center on Dec. 4, 2015, in Los Angeles.

Last year, Zedd released his sophomore album, True Colors. Next month's Los Angeles Film Festival includes the premiere of the True Colors documentary, which explores the process behind the music.

Zedd on 2016 Plans: 'I'm Not Going to Release a New Album This Year'

The trailer for the film arrived over the weekend, and it's full of high-powered live footage: big beats paired with onstage pyrotechnics. In addition to the performance clips, the movie features interviews with members of Zedd's family -- including his brother (Arkadi Zaslavski) and his father (Igor Zaslavski) -- and renowned executives like Jimmy Iovine. "Both our parents are musicians," Arkadi explains, "so I don't think there was an option not to be in music."

True Colors, directed by Susan Bonds and Alex Lieu, will debut at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in L.A. on June 2nd. After the screening, fans are invited to stick around for "a Q&A with the filmmakers," and Zedd will treat viewers to an acoustic performance featuring unnamed "special guests." The original album included vocal contributions from Selena Gomez and Troye Sivan. Earlier this year, Zedd released a new version of True Colors' title track featuring singing from Kesha.
