Jamie Jones’ new track was inspired by a very specific imaginary shindig. “I named the song ‘Land Of The Giants’ because I just imagined some huge giants getting down at a house party in their giant world,” Jones explains to Billboard. “I also used to love the show as a kid,” he continues. “So why not?”

Hot Creator: The Dance World According to Jamie Jones

“Land Of The Giants,” premiering on Billboard Dance today, is the title track from Jones’ next EP. The producer eases listeners into the song with pillowy synthesizers; a rapid fire burst of drumming around the 30 second mark announces that the house party is beginning in earnest. After that, “Land Of The Giants” stays low to the ground, following the contours of a growly, distorted line of bass. Playful melodic motifs skip across the top of the track.

To add a human element to a song that mixes the electronic with the colossal, Jones turned to a family member. “Once I did the beat, I asked my little brother’s new indie project, Hero Twins, to do the vocal,” he says. “ That’s my little bro singing. Proud!”

Land Of The Giants hits Beatport on May 13, and sees full release on May 27. Listen to the title track below.
