In 2013, Borgeous perked up ears when “Tsunami,” his collaboration with DVBBS, stormed the festivals and the Beatport charts. A year later, he found success again with another track named after natural forces, as “Wildfire” pounded into Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. Then “Invincible” followed suit.

Today the DJ/producer shared details on a forthcoming album and premiered “Ride It,” a collaboration with Sean Paul, exclusively on Billboard Dance. 13 will be Borgeous’ debut full-length, and it’s slated to include contributions from Lil Jon, Neon Hitch, Fatman Scoop, Lauren Dyson, and others. The project will come out on Geousus Records, a new partnership that Borgeous has forged with Armada Music.

Borgeous Recruits Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka Flame & DJ Whoo Kid For 'Toast'

Borgeous has a number of cross-genre collaborations under his belt – including a track with Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka Flame, and DJ Whoo Kid – so it’s no surprise that he teamed up with Sean Paul for “Ride It.” Rvssian and M.R.I. also helped out with the song. The result is a whirlwind of strafing synthesizers, sampled growls, and spurts of trap drums. A beat with this sort of power could easily unhorse a vocalist, but Sean Paul never breaks a sweat.

“Something that people don’t know about me is that I am half Jamaican on my mother’s side,” Borgeous says in an email. “So for ‘Ride It,’ it was really cool to work on a song with Sean Paul, who is one of the top Jamaican artists.”
