IMS Engage -- the North American off-shoot of famed industry conference International Music Summit -- returns to Los Angeles on April 21. The annual gathering has become a melting pot of dance music power players, bringing together artists, agents, execs and more for one-on-one panels of unmoderated discussion. Last year, for instance, saw Kaskade in conversation with Stuart Price, as well as Seth Troxler head-to-head with Chuck D.

For the fourth edition of IMS Engage, the conference has elected Marc Geiger, head of music at William Morris Endeavor, in conversation with John MacFarlane, CEO of Sonos, as its first speaker pairing. While Geiger has helped oversee the careers of artists like Rihanna, Tom Petty, and Jack White (in addition to co-founding Lollapalooza), MacFarlane has been at the forefront of the some of the most innovative developments in home speaker technology of the last decade.

Study: North American Electronic Music Industry Worth Nearly $2 Billion

The second pairing features a similar cast of industry titans, with Live Nation’s president of electronic music, James Barton, in conversation with AM Only’s East Coast vice president, Lee Anderson. Barton has overseen Live Nation’s investments in the electronic music space, helping acquire significant properties like Insomniac Events and HARD Events. Lee Anderson, on the other hand, is the savvy booking agent behind some of electronic music’s most formidable talents, helping break artists like Skrillex, Zedd, and Disclosure from opening acts to stadium headliners.

Ben Turner, co-founder of IMS Engage, said of the pairings: “All four are architects of change within our industry from three different perspectives: the agent, the promoter, and the technology innovator. All, in fact, are change agents, the kind of people IMS likes to focus on.”

IMS Engage takes place April 21 at the W Hotel Hollywood. Tickets are available here.
