Ultra Worldwide Announces Rio de Janeiro as Brazil Destination

Ultra Brazil is coming to Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil will become the 19th nation to join Ultra Worldwide’s continually-expanding family. Watch the trailer below:

While the festival’s global expansion began in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2008, its status was put on hold following its 2011 edition -- which boasted Swedish House Mafia as the main headliner.

Ultra Worldwide Will Come to Brazil in October 2016

The news separates the festival giant from its competitors, particularly Tomorrowland and Electric Daisy Carnival, which opted for Sao Paulo as their location.

The 15 Greatest Dance Music Cities of All Time

Ultra Brazil 2016 will take place in October, although exact dates and performers have yet to be revealed. Prior to the event, Rio will be hosting the 31st Summer Olympic Games from Aug. 5-21.
