President Barack Obama has always been a Chicago house head.

As an Illinois state senator in 2004, Obama named the street where seminal venue the Warehouse once stood Frankie Knuckles Way and declared August 25th Franke Knuckles Day. He also wrote a flowery tribute letter to the late godfather of house music following his death last year.

On the Fourth of July this year, Obama recorded a video message to wish Chicago house legends the Chosen Few DJs a happy holiday and 25th anniversary.

Check out Obama's accolades below:

“Michelle and I are sorry we can’t be home with all the house heads in Jackson Park today,” Obama says. “We’re having a Fourth of July get-together of our own at the White House, with some of America’s finest servicemen and women and their families, but I still wanted to wish the Chosen Few DJs and all of you a happy Fourth of July, and a happy 25th anniversary, Chosen Few Picnic. Love you Chicago! Enjoy the fireworks.”
