My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Mandy Moore, actor John C. Reilly, LP and Langhorne Slim are among the acts who will perform at the D’Addario Foundation’s Back 2 School Benefit on Nov. 2 at Los Angeles’ Palace Theater.

The artists, who also include Garfunkel & Oates, Blake Mills and Inara George, will be accompanied The Watkins Family Hour, featuring Sara and Sean Watkins and Mike Viola.

“Exposure to music classes or lessons isn’t just a nice thing to have done as a kid. It affects our ability to focus, to problem solve and is one of the few arts that basically involves teamwork and collaboration,” Sara Watkins tells Billboard. “Music taught me the the importance and value in perseverance and practice.  Having the tools to make music still, even just at home with a friend or alone, gives me joy.”

As the philanthropic arm of music instrument accessories manufacturer D’Addario, the D’Addario Foundation utilizes up to 10% of D’Addario’s net earnings each year to fund more than 200 non-profit programs. The Nov. 2 benefit will provide kids access to music programs, provide college assistance scholarships, and encourage more females to pick up guitars through D’Addario’s Girls In Music Initiative.

“Bringing music instruction back into schools and communities is a simple but deeply powerful way to improve our education system and boost creativity and academic achievement in students,” says Suzanne D’Addario Brouder, D’Addario Foundation executive director. “The D’Addario Foundation is a leader in finding and partnering with the highest quality music programs in the neediest areas.”

Tickets, priced from $50 to $250, will go on sale Sept. 20 with a  pre-sale starting Sept. 18. VIP ticket options include premium seating (center orchestra or first two rows of mezzanine), a VIP laminate, and a priority entry lane.
