Erykah Badu performs on NPR's "Tiny Desk" concert.

Erykah Badu stopped by NPR Music for a beautiful Tiny Desk Concert on Wednesday (Aug. 15). The jazzy performance incorporated Badu's signature blend of storytelling and humor while she sang through "Rimshot" and "Green Eyes."

Rocking dreads and colorful makeup, Badu launched into a spiritual set. From 1997's Baduzium, the steady "Rimshot" references the sound made when a drumstick hits the metal edge of a snare. Her next song, "Green Eyes," rolls through a story of heartbreak as Badu's vocals soar over varied jazz arrangements from her talented seven-piece band.
