Over the weekend it reached the number 10 box office spot in the U.S., where it averaged $5,900 per screen for a total of $3.6 million, making it the country's highest-grossing event cinema music production. In the U.K., it claimed the weekend's sixth spot with $830,000, while it also achieved more than 100,000 admissions in both the Philippines and Indonesia, gained a more than $14,000 screen average in Denmark and reached $800,000 in box office in Germany and Austria.
"BTS fans filled AMC theaters across the country," said Nikkole Denson-Randolph, AMC Theater's vp content strategy and inclusive programming. "It’s exciting to feel the audience’s passion for this documentary film, starting from the moment the cinema events were announced."
Last week, Trafalgar Releasing also launched Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams in more than 70 countries. The one night-only engagement attracted more than 300,000 attendees with a global box office of more than $3.5 million.
