BTS' 'Burn the Stage' Movie Opens Worldwide, Sells Nearly 1M Pre-Sale Tickets

Thursday (Nov. 15) marks the worldwide release of BTS’ first feature film, Burn the Stage: The Movie. Premiering in more than 70 countries, the documentary gives the South Korean group’s fans an intimate look at the 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour.

According to distributor Trafalgar Releasing, pre-premiere ticketing for the film topped 940,000 sales worldwide. The extraordinary pre-release sales are even more outstanding considering that Burn the Stage: The Movie features material already released through the YouTube Red series of the same name, which premiered its first episode on March 28 and released its eighth and final episode on May 9.

Last year’s Wings Tour drew more than 550,000 of BTS’ loyal fan ARMY to 40 concerts in 19 cities around the globe.

Burn the Stage: The Movie is directed by Park Jun Soo, and Yoon Jiwon served as producer. BTS’ label Big Hit Entertainment and Camp Entertainment produced the film, and it was presented by Big Hit in association with YouTube Originals.
