From Justin to Britney: Justin Guarini to play Prince Charming in "Once Upon a One More Time."

The Britney Spears-inspired musical Once Upon a One More Time has found its Prince Charming: American Idol alum Justin Guarini, who was the season 1 runner-up to the show's inaugural winner, Kelly Clarkson.

The Broadway-bound jukebox musical announced its cast on Wednesday (March 4), as Guarini joins the fantasy ranks of Cinderella, Snow White and other fairytale characters the story follows. When a rogue fairy godmother delivers Betty Friedan's classic feminist manifesto The Feminist Mystique to their book club, the princesses question the purpose of their happily-ever-afters.

Following his 2002 Idol stint, Guarini has five Broadway roles under his belt: Wicked, American Idiot, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Romeo and Juliet and, most recently, In Transit in 2017.

Four Weddings and a Funeral standout star Simon Callow will narrate Once Upon a One More Time, as other big names -- Great News lead Briga Heelan (Cinderella) and Tony-nominated actress Emily Skinner (Stepmother) -- will also lend a hand to the production.

Once Upon a One More Time begins a limited pre-Broadway run in Chicago's James M. Nederlander Theater April 14, with opening night April 30 and closing night May 17. Stay tuned for more date and venue details.

World of Dance stars Keone and Mari Madrid will weave in Spears' top 40 Billboard Hot 100 hits, including "…Baby One More Time," "Oops! I Did It Again," "Stronger," "Toxic" and "Lucky," to the veteran pop star's delight.

"I’m so excited to have a musical with my songs -- especially one that takes place in such a magical world filled with characters that I grew up on, who I love and adore,” Spears said in a press statement obtained by People. "This is a dream come true for me!"
