Sabrina Carpenter announced Tuesday (Feb. 11) that she'll make her Broadway debut this spring in Mean Girls.

"GET IN LOSERS, WE'RE GOING TO BROADWAY," the pop singer-songwriter tweeted alongside the news in a reference to the 2004 movie the musical is based on.

Carpenter will take over the role of Cady Heron starting March 10 for more than three months over the spring and summer, with her stint wrapping up June 7. "I'm so excited," she told People in a statement. "I’m such a big fan of the musical, the movie, the story in general...You only get these opportunities so many times in life. You get so lucky when you get to create something new that’s never been done before, and you fall in love with it as you’re making it. But coming into this already knowing that I’m such a fan? And saying every one of those iconic lines? I can’t put it into words; it’s just going to be so thrilling. It brings a whole new energy into it for me."

Carpenter's role in Mean Girls follows the release of her 2019 EP Singular: Act II, which featured the singles "Pushing 20," "Exhale" and "In My Bed."
