'Rent Live' Soundtrack Gets a Release Date: Listen to 'Seasons of Love' Now

On Friday (Jan. 18), Sony Masterworks Broadway announced the release of Rent – Original Soundtrack of the Fox Live Television Event, slated for Feb 1.

The album will include tracks from the Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent as performed by the cast members with a live orchestra onstage from Fox’s upcoming live TV broadcast, set to premiere Jan. 27 at 8 p.m. ET.

Available for preorder now, the soundtrack will be released digitally and as a two-disc CD set on Feb. 1, the Friday after the live musical event. Included in the preorder and available now to stream is the show’s anthem “Seasons of Love (Radio Edit),” which you can hear below.

The cast includes Vanessa Hudgens (Maureen) and Jordan Fisher (Mark) -- who also both appeared in Fox's Grease Live! in 2016 -- recording artists Mario (Benjamin) and Tinashe (Mimi), as well as Drag Race alum Valentina (Angel), Kiersey Clemons (Joanne), Brandon Victor Dixon (Tom) and Brennin Hunt (Roger). Plus, The Greatest Showman breakout star Keala Settle will join the ensemble to sing the solo on "Seasons of Love" during the broadcast.

The musical is set in New York City’s East Village and tells the story of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams during a time of great social and political turmoil. The television adaptation will broadcast live from the Fox Studios in Los Angeles.
