Rachel Bloom Sings 'Putting It Together' on the Tony Awards Red Carpet: Watch
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star and Tony Awards backstage host Rachel Bloom made a quick stop on the red carpet Sunday night (Jun 10) to speak with Billboard’s Paul Costabile, treating viewers to a rendition of her favorite Broadway musical song.
Asked what her favorite Broadway musical song of all time is, Bloom names “Putting It Together” from Sunday in the Park with George. The play, coincidentally, features music from Stephen Sondheim, and Bloom wore a shirt to the Tonys featuring the composer and lyricist’s face.
“Remember when I asked Twitter for a custom made t-shirt of Sondheim smoking a joint?” she wrote on Twitter, along with some pictures of the shirt designed by Jason Segal’s sister Alison.
Along with naming the Sondheim song, Bloom also sings a beautiful, impromptu, expletive-laden rendition (when she forgets a few words), and you can watch it in the video above.
