Brandy made her Broadway debut in 2015, when she starred as Roxie Hart in the Tony-winning musical Chicago. Even after extending her eight-week engagement to 10 weeks during her original run, and reprising her performance in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., Brandy is back for more.

According to Playbill, the Grammy-winning artist is set to return to the stage on Aug. 17 for a 17-performance run at the Ambassador Theatre. Brandy will take over for Tony nominee Charlotte d'Amboise, who is currently performing alongside Lana Gordon as Velma, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Tom Hewitt as Billy Flynn.

It's no surprise that Brandy has found success on the Broadway stage. The R&B singer has found herself at every corner of the entertainment industry, first making a name for herself with her debut single "I Wanna Be Down," which lived on the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks, starring in her own sitcom Moesha, and playing Disney's first black princess in the Cinderella TV movie.

Chicago is the longest-running American musical, boasting six Tony Awards and a Grammy for best musical cast recording.
