The 2018 Billboard Music Awards are in the books!

Ed Sheeran won Top Artist, Taylor Swift made her presence felt, BTS drove the crowd bonkers, and Janet Jackson and Salt-N-Pepa wowed us with some exhilarating throwback performances. Capturing the action #online, here are some of the funniest and most iconic tweets and Instagram posts from the evening. Searching the BBMAs hashtag often brought up nothing but BTS content, but rest assured, we’ve gathered social media highlights from a vast sampling of artists on hand. And plenty of BTS.

Nick Jonas was trending on Twitter through much of the telecast, thanks to his jacked up, one-suspender red carpet look. There was some thirst and then there was some snark:

Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, and Camila Cabello were seated alongside each other, and the show's camera crew was all over it. So was Twitter. 

In her opening monologue, Kelly Clarkson tore through an exhilarating medley of covers from the night's nominees to get the crowd going. Khalid couldn't get enough.

Naturally, Taylor Swift posing with BTS for her Instagram was a big deal.

Later on, Janet Jackson was a national trending topic thanks to her rousing performance and acceptance speech for the Billboard Icon Award:

 

 

 

Needless to say, there was a lot of anticipation for the BTS performance.
