Everything You Need to Know About Camila Cabello's BBMA's Red Carpet Look: Exclusive

For the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, Camila Cabello, who is a nominee in the Top Rap Collaboration category for “Bad Things” alongside Machine Gun Kelly, stunned on the magenta carpet in an orangey-red and ultra feminine lace slip dress from Jonathan Simkhai 's Pre-Fall 2017 collection.

“The look is very boudoir and very sexy. I really wanted to speak to her Cuban heritage. She’s Latina and showing that off is really important to her and me as well, so this look plays to her heritage and her personality,” stylist Law Roach tells Billboard exclusively.

To embrace Cabello's new beginnings and showcase who she is outside of Fifth Harmony, Roach selected a silhouette and color she has never sported on the red carpet before to “help her create this new persona of Camila Cabello, the artist.” He adds that his creative process is “very organic” and there is “always a certain emotion” he wants his clients to invoke when they hit the carpet. “It becomes one of those things when you see it on you just know. It’s that pause in the room where everyone gasps. And when you get that, you just know, and it gives you goose bumps. The entire room had that gasping moment.”

Roach accented Cabello’s floor-length slip with a pair of mirrored metallic yellow gold sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti, gold hoop earrings from Lana Jewelry and three Le Vian rings.
