Julia Michaels on Success of 'Issues' & When Her Debut Album Is on the Way: Watch

With the Billboard Music Awards just around the corner, Julia Michaels made her first live TV appearance Monday (April 10) to announce the nominees for some of the top categories on Good Morning America with Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz.

After the show, the singer/songwriter spoke to Billboard about her debut Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Issues.” “It feels overwhelming in the most beautiful way possible,” she said.

As for a full album, the songstress -- who has written songs for major artists, including Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez -- said she's working on it but is still fine-tuning the details.

“I’m always trying to beat myself and experiment and try all different new concoctions of things,” she explained.

The 2017 BBMAs will air live on ABC from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 21, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
